Thursday April 26th 2018

1) Students must bring their band instruments Friday, as we have an extra scheduled band practice. 2) Science fair projects should be at the final stages of preparation.  Students will have 25 minutes tomorrow (Friday) if they would like to use that time to piece their boards together. 3) Students will want to be working to complete their social studies Mesopotamia skits, which will be presented on Tuesday.  Students will also need to hand in their notes on this day. 4) Please hand in your Month Without Walls permission forms ASAP.  That way we can begin to arrange for boating and other transportation. 5) There is a math test tomorrow (students had a pretest today)

Monday April 23rd 2018

1) Please wear outdoor clothes tomorrow and clothes you are happy to pick up garbage in. 2) Please bring a small garden tool so that we may plant our plants from today. Today students had another session with Jesse Wollen.  It was fascinating to see how many students were unaware of whether or not their were any kind of parental blocks on their electronic devices.  I will compile a list of potential softwares parents may be interested in investigating.

After an extremely successful trip, we were fully back in the classroom today. Students will want to make sure that they are prepared for their science fair projects and will want to make sure the experiment itself is complete by Tuesday, April 24th.  Students will then use some time in class to compile their results into graphs/charts and research information to help them write up the conclusion. Today we had a look online for possible experiments.  Below is a link that has some possible ideas from which to draw questions and hypotheses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EelaHwqvB9Q Monday I will post the webs we generated for our upcoming SS presentations (due date most likely Tuesday, May 1st). The video clips we took our notes from today are below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiclXLWQk4k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sohXPx_XZ6Y Students had their first session with Jessica Wollen this year.  Our discussion was around social media etiquette and spe...

Just a reminder that students will meet down at the ferry terminal at 5:50am.  Please make sure you have your ski-wear on (or ready to put on), a bagged lunch, and a day pack.  Students may also want to bring a snack for the ferry as we will be sitting together, not using the cafeteria.  Students are NOT to bring any electronic devices, save a camera.  Students know that any phones, iPods, etc... will be confiscated and returned at the end of the trip in Langdale.  We anticipate good times!! Thanks again to everyone for your support. 😁

Hello Families of Grade 7s. We are well on our way with the planning stages of the trip.  All students present today have been sent home with a food list for grocery shopping this weekend. Each group must have a cooler and ice.  Please consult with your child and confirm who is bringing the cooler. Thanks so much!!

Just a reminder that money for the trip was due today.  If you have not settled up, please do so as soon as possible. Rooming lists have been assigned and sent home with students as well as other information that I will copy and paste below. I also sent home another copy of expected ski wear items for up the mountain.  Please check this over with your child. Also, please keep in mind that Monday is a Pro-D day, which means that students will not have reminders the same week prior to bringing in food supplies, coolers, ice, packed overnight bags, etc....  Ernie has agreed to be here Tuesday afternoon to collect items in the back of his truck.  We need students to have items here by 1:45pm Tuesday April 17th. Again, thanks so much for your support and cooperation in making this ski trip happen.  The excitement is palpable!
