Today students began by signing up for Duolingo, a computer program for learning languages.  Students will need an email address in order to proceed with the program on a sequential level.  If students do not yet have an email address, it would be helpful for parents to either allow students to use a parent's email address, or perhaps, if you are comfortable with your child having their own email address, they could create one with you.

Students will need to complete exercise 1.3, numbers 1-10 if they did not do so in class already today.

Science booklets 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, 13 will be due on Wednesday, November 7th.

Finally, please look over the following quotation from I, Bully by Roy Dimond (p.141).  Explain to your family the context in which this quotation fits in the book and how it impacts you and your relationship with your parents/family:

"Most kids just talk with their friends when something is bothering them.  That's okay.  It's good to talk to your buddies, but usually your classmates can only commiserate with you.  They try to support you by saying  what they think you want to hear.  Sometimes however, we need to hear the truth.  We need advice that gets us out of a situation, or at least helps us understand."
