Today we practiced creating limericks.  Please see the handout below.  Feel free to practice a few yourself. We also added more to our conclusions from the beak science experiment that we completed yesterday.  Please see the notes below to understand more deeply what makes up a strong conclusion after an experiment. Homework: Please remember to bring your instruments tomorrow, as it is a band day!

Today we started with a science experiment.  Please see the handouts and procedure below.  If you have the supplies, feel feel free to replicate the experiment at home.  We did two experiments and changed the number of seconds from 20 to 40 in the second experiment.  You will notice that we graphed the 20 second results together and then students individually graphed the 40 second results. Science experiment drafts and graphs were handed in at the end of class. Homework: There are still a few interview spots left.  Please bring in your forms and secure a spot. Band instruments should be practiced four times per week for 15 minutes.

Homework: Please remember to practice your band instrument over the weekend. Otzi stories are now very overdue.  Please finish these up if you are one of the few who has not done so. If you are performing in the talent show, your act needs to be perfected by Monday! Please see the poetry sheets below to assist in creating poetry.  Please remember that all submissions to the anthology need to be in by Friday, March 15th.

Homework; Please remember your band instruments tomorrow! Those who are public speaking tomorrow or have roles, please remember to prepare for the event. If you have any submissions for the Coast Anthology, please remember the due date is this coming Friday, March 15th.  Consider that poems are also welcomed as submissions!

Wednesday March 6th 2019

Homework: Students will want to make sure that they have their public speeches prepared for tomorrow and Friday. Students will want to practice bars 17-24 in Pirates of the Caribbean.  They will also want to make sure they are up to date with Hey Jude (bars 9-18). There is no math homework this afternoon.

Tuesday March 5th 2019

Homework:  Please bring your instruments tomorrow!  You will want to make sure that you are practicing at least 15 minutes four times per week. Public Speaking starts up again this Thursday and Friday.  Please make sure that you have your speech prepared and check to see when you are scheduled to present (this is hanging in the classroom).

Today we went over public speaking for this week and assigned roles.  Students will present either Thursday or Friday this week.  A rubric will be handed out tomorrow to remind students exactly what the expectations are. The possible topics are: What is something about the world you might wish to make better or change? Can we learn from another's mistakes or advice, or do we need to make mistakes for ourselves to really learn? Homework: Students must please bring a photo or printed picture of their favourite food tomorrow or Wednesday (at the latest) Please make sure you are practicing your band instrument at least 15 minutes four times per week.
