We are now winding down! Students need carrier bags to bring their things home with them over the next two days.  Please ensure a couple extra bags are packed. There are still some students who have not covered their week without walls ($15) or the farewell ceremony ($15) costs.  Please send this in ASAP. Students will want to check their bedrooms (under their beds) for any library books or textbooks they've borrowed. Please remember to bring the following for Thormanby Island tomorrow: 2 water bottles A good lunch with lots of snacks A bathing suit and towel Sun screen and a hat

Please bring a large bag on Monday to bring home extra school supplies and work.  We will be working with skeleton supplies this coming week and taking down the classroom. Please check the notice sent home regarding parent drivers for Thormanby.  We might make a few adjustments, but do require the drivers detailed on the notice. Social Studies projects are due on Monday for Mr Krangle.   Have a great weekend!!

Today, students came back from our camping trip in fine form.  We walked down to Lower Gibsons and were given a fantastic historical tour of the community by Dale. Tomorrow is sports day!  Please make sure that you bring a water bottle and plenty of sun screen as the weather is going to be sunny and fabulous! This coming week we will be practicing the farewell ceremony.  Please come to school prepared with the items you plan to put in your box, as well as a box and supplies to decorate your box, if you want something specific.  We will have some limited supplies here. Thormanby is scheduled for Tuesday.  Unless there is severe weather forecast, all will be a go.  Please see the notice handed out tomorrow with drivers and volunteers. There are still some who have not paid fees for Week Without Walls, the lifeguard, and the farewell celebration.  Please see the list below detailing the costs. Today we had a great afternoon baking up a storm!! Tomorrow is the last day to bring in band instruments for return to Long & McQuade.  Please make sure that these are brought into the classroom first thing...otherwise you are responsible for returning them to the store yourself. Tomorrow, please make sure to have your equipment packed and ready to go! On Thursday, after our tour of Lower Gibsons, I'm allowing students to purchase a treat from one of the local shops, if they desire.  As such, they will need a little bit of spending money if they would like to make a purchase. Just a reminder, our camping trip and tour of Gibsons is a cost of $15.00.  This can be brought in anytime this week.  Fortunately, parents have been able to put together a lifeguard for the time at the lake.  This will come at an additional cost of $10.00 per student.  Please let me know if this breaks the camel's back... Food will be arranged in coolers in the morning b...

Homework: Please note that a form with Week Without Walls information has gone home with students today, as well as their grocery lists for camping. At this point in time, our week without walls activities will cost $15.00 per student, plus the additional cost of food for camping.  Again, if financing the events proves problematic, please touch base.  Grocery lists are coming home with students today so that supplies might be purchased over the weekend. Grade seven students are also being asked to pay $15.00 to cover the costs of the farewell celebration after the school ceremony. At this point in time, all student assignments are overdue.  Please ensure that work is up to date.  Students are aware if they have outstanding assignments.  The last day to accept assignments without impacting what is written on the report card is Monday, June 17th.

Vancouver Trip: Please don't forget that we are in Vancouver tomorrow!  Please be at the ferry at 8:15am.  A reminder that we will be coming home on the 4:40pm ferry from Horseshoe Bay (thus will be at Langdale by 5:20pm). Students will need a hearty lunch with lots of snacks and water. Students will want to wear comfortable clothes that they can move around easily in.  A hand towel may come in handy when finishing up with archery tag, as students will likely want to wash their feet when finished. Instrument pick up will happen on Wednesday, June 19th.  You can bring your instruments in at anytime prior to this.  Please make sure they are labeled with your name (first and last) and your division number (1).  If they are not handed in specifically to me, this will not be considered handed in.  There are many instruments in the back of the classroom... students will have to claim them first, label them, and then hand them in officially.

Homework: Lit Circle Reflections are due on Monday. Thanks for all of those people who played in the band concert today.  Your dedication paid off.  That was a job well done!! Please note that Long & McQuade will be picking instruments up on Wednesday, June 19th.  Since we will be camping that day, it is important to have instruments here on the Monday, June 17th, clearly labeled with your name so that they can pick up the instruments at their leisure and clearly note that you have handed your instrument in.  Please return the Essential Elements books to Ms MacInnes.  You may keep or donate to Cedar Grove your Standards of Excellence books.
