 Today students were officially reminded of the importance of the daily health checklist.  Please note the bright pink handout that was sent home and stick it to your fridge.  Please make sure you're checking this everyday! A reminder that Character Sketches are due Friday.  Please see Tuesday's post for more details. Please remember that the Terry Fox Run is tomorrow first thing in the morning for Div 1. Please remember that your Character Sketch assignments are due on Friday.  If you will be away on Friday, you can hand it in on Thursday! Please make sure that you complete your 100 multiples chart.  This will be collected tomorrow.  See the picture below and follow the outline. Please colour code the following multiples: 2 - Blue 3 - Orange 4 - Yellow  5 - Green 6 - Purple 7 - Pink 8 - Grey 9 - Red Any prime numbers can be outlined in black. Please remember that it is Orange Shirt Day tomorrow.  Try to wear a splash of orange! Please remember that Thursday is the Terry Fox Run.  You will need to wear appropriate shoes!  Happy Friday Everyone! I hope that you received the notice that went home today.  The blog will hopefully help families to connect digitally with the classroom, if you haven't been already! We had another great week.  Thanks to everyone who has been dressing for the weather.  Please continue to do so... better to be prepared, than caught out in the rain... literally! Today's key words are: pattern, sewing, perspective drawing and reconciliation Please remember that this coming Wednesday is Orange Shirt Day in honour of residential school survivors and reconciliation.  Tuesday is Library Day!  Please make sure that all library books are brought back in from before the summer holiday. Please bring a percussive instrument if you have one tomorrow.  We will be observing how numbers and sound relate to one another. Please remember to wear appropriate clothing.  The rains are coming and students will be OUTSIDE regardless.  Dress for comfort... even in the most fashionable clothing, looking like a drowned rat cannot look better than being dry! Welcome back!  We had a good start to the week. Please make sure that you wear clothes for outside this week.  The weather is going to change mid-week and students will still be expected outside.  You will want layers and rain gear!   If you have a percussive instrument (bongo drums, maracas, chimes, etc...) please bring this on Wednesday!  What a wonderful week!  Our division one students showed tremendous resilience and seem ready to tackle the year. Thanks for taking the time to read the blog.  This is your child's link to the classroom while at home. This week we: 1) began our study of the human brain 2) started a read aloud called "The War That Saved My Life" by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley (we finished up to and including chapter 9) 3) started a sewing project 4) started improving the art of reflective learning journalling 5) began a continuous record of our sleep habits 6) refreshed our times tables 7) used multiple tools to help us generate shape and line Thanks for handing in your forms!   Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

 Four days of grade seven bliss! Please remember to bring warm clothes as we move forward.  Regardless of the weather, with the smoke subsiding, we will have all of our windows open during the day.   Please bring something to sit on outside tomorrow, such as. towel or a blanket.  We will be doing some sitting and reflecting outside.  Welcome Back!! I so appreciated seeing everyone together today.  Thanks for bringing your A-Game! Please remember to bring lots of water and snacks and a hearty lunch.  We will begin our mindful eating practice tomorrow and get better and better with each day. Our school supplies were handed out today and students labeled them.  We are now set and ready to jump into our learning.  Please feel free to email me if you have any concerns.  I want to keep the lines of communication open with you and your children.
