Please remember that this Monday, February 3rd is the LAST day to show your interest in an overnight trip.  Please make sure that you have your letter of intent and the deposit to hand in if you are interested in participating. Please see the math below and make sure you are comfortable with completing these questions: Please also remember to bring a measuring tape again on Monday.  Today we were unable to go outside, due to the pouring rain!!  We will begin our measuring unit outside on Monday.

Please remember that Monday is the LAST day to show interest if you plan to attend the ski trip. Otzi stories will be read tomorrow morning.  Please make sure you have a readable copy before the second bell. Please bring a measuring tape tomorrow.  Ask your parents if they have one that you will use during math class and then bring home in the afternoon.

Please bring your instruments tomorrow! As well, if you can bring a measuring tape for tomorrow and Friday, that'd be great!! Interest forms and deposits for the ski trip are due this coming Monday, February 3rd.  Without 40 participants, the trip will not go ahead. There is a book swap tomorrow.  Bring your gently used book to trade for another!! Please note the fundraiser for Div 1 and 2!  The Butcher is a great way to raise money for our upcoming adventures! A few students got 100% on today's math quiz!!  Please make sure that you have prepared well for the math-make-up quiz tomorrow... some of today's results were less than remarkable!  It is your responsibility to make sure you know these concepts.  If you are unsure, please let me know ahead of time so that I can better guide you through it. Name and measure the degrees of each angle: Fill in the missing angle measurement: Please be prepared with an Otzi draft printed off for tomorrow.  See me before the bell if you need to print yours off!!  If you need a picture printed off, let me know as well!

Please remember to bring your band instruments! Please remember to dress like a character from a storybook, comic book, novel, non-fiction book, historical fiction book!!  Tomorrow points will be taken and I want division one to win!! Please see the math questions below to refresh what we've been learning... there is a quiz tomorrow! Please make sure that you wear appropriate clothing for our garbage pick-up tomorrow!!  Rubber boots and gloves will likely be an asset! Please make sure that you have completed your Character Attributes Outline, as this is due tomorrow.  Please see the sheets below if you are not sure. Please make sure that if you'd like to complete a retest that you do your corrections.  You cannot do a retest without the corrections done.

Please remember that you have a math test tomorrow!  The test will be on factoring, prime number factoring, rounding, and estimating. Please bring your band instruments tomorrow! Please remember that we will be doing garbage pick-up on Friday afternoon.  Wear appropriate clothing, including boots and gloves if you feel them necessary.

Please remember to bring in forms of intent if you are planning to participate in the class trip. Please remember that on Friday, we will be participating in a neighbourhood clean-up.  Prepare appropriate clothes and rubber boots/gloves so that you are not caught off guard.  Please also remember to wear clothing that you are okay to get mucky.  There could be a bit of rain. Please remember to bring a board game for tomorrow.  We will be playing board games tomorrow afternoon.  This is in preparation of understanding what makes a game fun, engaging, and why you feel motivated to play. Please remember to bring your band instruments tomorrow. Please go over the trip notice with your parents.  Also note that a Yearbook form was sent home. Please make sure that you are comfortable with rounding, estimating, and factoring in math so that you are prepared for the math test on Thursday.  There are some practice for rounding below: Please remember that on Friday afternoon, we will be heading out for garbage collection along the roads around the school (King/Chaster/Hough).  Please wear clothes that are appropriate for the weather and for getting mucky/dirty.  Please bring rubber gloves if you are nervous about touching garbage.  Rubber boots would also be a good idea.

After two snow days, we were back at it! We practiced rounding numbers to the tens, ones, tenths, hundredths, and thousandths columns.  Please see the notes taken below: Students then completed a guided entry in their reflection journals: Students had time to work on their Otzi stories.  We were reminded of the story plot diagram and some time was taken to consider important aspects of their stories: This afternoon we worked on backdrops for our stop motion videos. Please remember to bring in figurines for the stop motion filming on Monday. Please make sure you are dressed with appropriate outdoor wear for recess and lunch.  It likely will be cold and students will go outside during breaks. Students did discuss trip wishes and there was a majority in favour of skiing.  This is still NOT set in stone.  A notice will come home Monday to offer families information and options. Please remember that there are still ever so many bottles in need of...

Please remember that if you did not complete your What/SoWhat/Then What sheet this is for homework.  You are expected to have at least 5 Otzi facts as your "whats" and then fill in what that could mean as your "so what" and then add a fictional event that corresponds to this assumption as your "then what". Please make sure that you are ready for Wednesday with your first journal entry complete for you lit circle book.  If you are reading Chew On This, you might need to do some investigating of a specific fast food chain.  Check in to see what "characters" are used to sell their product to the general public. Look at your character from the perspective of someone trying to sell something! Please remember that the fundraising bottle drive is happening this Saturday - rain or snow! Please make sure to bring your band instrument tomorrow!! If you did not finish your math in class today, the first page is for homework (#1-8). Please discuss with your parents the potential for an overnight trip... the discussion today was Whistler, but this is dependant upon student and parent engagement.  *Note - there is a fundraiser this Saturday (January 11th 2020).  Students who participate in the fundraising activities are eligible for what is raised.  Please make arrangements for rides if your parent is not able to take you!!  Check your email for information from Lisa regarding the event.

Please, if you can, bring in an artifact that is special to you or represents a time in your life or your family's life.  Consider the story that is attached to that artifact.  We will need these tomorrow afternoon.  If you cannot bring in an item, this is okay.  We can share. Please remember that if you are one of the people who has not done their hot seat, you will do this tomorrow morning. Math Homework - Please see the question below.  This needs to be written out, with your work showing and the answer clearly marked.  You must show how you know the number by showing how it cannot be another number.
