Please remember Grade 6s you will need your instruments tomorrow for the talent show! Please remember that this is the last call for golfing notices to be in!  We need to know who is attending so that we can prepare for rides. Please show your families the trip notice that was sent home with you today.  We will need these forms back ASAP, with the cut-off date being no later than Wednesday, April 1st (the first week back from the break). Please come and watch the talent show tomorrow at 1:00pm.  We sure have a lot of talented students here at Cedar Grove!!

Please feel free to come on down to the Open House this afternoon!! We will be here from now until 5:30pm. Please remember to bring your instruments tomorrow.  As well, Grade 6s will need their instruments here on Friday, as they will be performing in the talent show. Don't forget your golf notices!!  These are due on Friday.

Please prepare for your poetic device retest if you plan of taking this tomorrow.  You will need to show all of your corrections before taking the retest. Please remember that our Open House is scheduled for tomorrow.  Please bring your parents in to see your successes so far this year.  Show them your knowledge of states of matter and your understanding of volume, mass, and density. Please remember that tomorrow is an early dismissal day!

Please remember to bring your instruments tomorrow. Please remember that there is a quiz on poetic devices tomorrow.  Please see the definitions below.  Remember that you will have to know each device by name and know their definitions or what an example might be. Alliteration: The repetition of similar initial letter sounds. Assonance: The repetition of similar stressed vowel sounds. Metaphor: A comparison between two essentially unlike elements (without using like, as, or than). Hyperbole: A deliberate exaggeration. Onomatopoeia: Using words that sound like what they are trying to represent. Oxymoron: A combination of two contradictory or conflicting words. Personification: When human characteristics are attributed to animals or inanimate objects or ideas. Rhyme Scheme: The assignment of letters to lines of poetry. Today we had our last conversation with Jessie Wollen for the season!  We will continue having many conversations around the subjects she spoke about after spring break. Students who have not here for some of our poetry lessons, please see the criteria for the poems we have done so far.  You are expected to write the following types of poems, using the poetic devices we've been reviewing over the past two weeks: simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, rhyme scheme, assonance, alliteration, onomatopoeia, oxymoron. Please make sure to bring your instruments tomorrow! Please make sure to bring a Twoonie in for Jump Rope for Heart!  Tomorrow we will be jumping all afternoon.  Make sure you are wearing good jumping attire!  You can bring in a Twoonie anytime between now and this coming Thursday. Please make sure to dress for the elements tomorrow.  Some of the day will be spent outside.

Please remember your band instruments tomorrow. Please also remember that your gold forms are due on March 13th.  We need more parent drivers if this is going to work.  Parents, pretty please check your schedules on the off chance you might be available. Today we had a session with Jessie Wollen.  Please talk to your parents about what you learned. Remember that Fear speeches with Paula will be happening on Wednesday. Please make sure that you are wearing clothing to sustain you outside in the elements.  It is not okay to leave your jacket at home... we are still in the midst of winter!!
