Good Morning Division 1!
Shape of the Day – May the Fourth Be With You!
8:30 - 8:50am – Record your sleep patterns.
8:50 – 9:00am – Stretch break. Listen to one or two of your favourite songs and move around.
10:15 – 11:15 – Go Outside. Be active. Be mindful.
11:15 – 12:00 – Science or Socials – Choose something from either of the pages, including a documentary. I’ve also posted some new links on the science page that might help to spark a line of inquiry. Email me and tell me at least one thing that you learned today.
12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch Break
1:00 – 2:00 – Language Arts. Remember to check the Language Arts Page. The theme this week for Creative Writing is NATURE.
2:00 – 2:30 – Create your own day plan for tomorrow. Make sure to include 50 minutes of Math and 50 minutes of Language Arts. Please send me the plan via email. I’m super interested to see your planning strategies!
I wish to remind you the importance in owning your own learning. I sent out an email to your parents on Friday, reminding them that though they can remind you to keep your mind active through reading, writing, and practicing your math, that it really is your responsibility now. You are old enough and mature enough to not fight your parents on your learning and instead take ownership of it. Remember, with freedom comes responsibility!
This is not the same thing as asking for help on an assignment. You can totally do that! I’m talking about making your parents initiate sitting you down and actually trying to force you to work through something. Remember, I am here to help too, so you can still get busy if your parents are working and if you have a question, you can email me. I can usually get back to students straight away Mon-Fri during regular school hours.
Remember to breathe for three minutes. Focus only on your breathing. If a thought comes into your head, let it be with no judgment, and then go back to your breathing. With each breath in and out, remind yourself that it is good to breathe. When your three minutes are up, enjoy the space you created both in your mind and in your living space.
You got this!
